West Berkshire Ramblers

Welcome! We're glad you've found us.

If you're looking for a friendly walking group that helps you enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and explore beautiful countryside in Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and beyond at your own pace, you're in the right place. Our walking community offers a relaxed, enjoyable alternative to crowded gyms and intense workouts. No machines. No pressure. Just fresh air, scenic routes, and great company.

Discover the joy of walking in nature

Instead of pounding the treadmill or swimming endless lengths, imagine strolling through peaceful country lanes, across green fields and over rolling hills. West Berkshire Ramblers walks take place in stunning natural surroundings where you can unwind, make new friends, and experience the wellbeing benefits of being outdoors.

Yes, some walks get muddy — occasionally very muddy and we do head out in all kinds of weather. But with the right clothing and the right attitude, every walk brings its own rewards.

Walks for every level; from gentle strolls to longer challenges

Whether you're looking for a gentle four mile walk or a challenging 15-mile adventure, we have something for everyone. Our full programme includes regular walks through the week, giving you plenty of options to choose from.

To view the schedule, simply hover over the "Walks" menu at the top of the page and select "Walks Programme." Each walk includes a difficulty rating (shown by the walker icon) along with full details. Where numbers are limited, we'll let you know in the description.

Ready to join us? Just book your chosen walk, grab your walking boots or shoes and meet us at the starting point.

Prefer Conservation Work Instead? Get Involved!

Walking isn't the only way to enjoy the countryside. If you'd like to stay active while helping to protect nature, why not join our volunteer path-clearing and conservation team? You can:

• Trim overgrown footpaths with powered tools
• Replace old stiles and gates with modern, accessible versions
• Restore walking routes that haven't been used for months—or even years

It's rewarding, meaningful work that helps everyone enjoy the outdoors.

Get in touch – We'd love to hear from you
